Staff members help people deal with the trauma of the situation, as well as filing paperwork for the courts, dealing with court appointments and locating a bed in a domestic violence shelter.

Dating violence is prevalent in young adults, and Beacon of Hope has focused on it through the Purple Sneakers education program, which Steele started.
Beacon of Hope is an organization serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, helping them to become self-sufficient by providing safety, education and support.
